| Description | In SW V15.502.13 and 14, if we ordered some command via NUGU, then STB released "previous key event" repeatly. This function implemented previous Android version. Why SKB introduce this fucntion is Google provide some advice belows in Android O. 1. User uses Google assistance, and the search result is displayed on TV Screen. 2. User uses NUGU function. Then it doesn't work correctly due to GA result is displayed on TV Screen. => SKB and Vendor asked to help to solve this issue. Google provide to release "previous key events" repeatly when GA result is on the Screen. Google said that user can release this key events when "com.google.android.katniss" package is in foreground service(RunningAppProcessInfo.IMPORTANCE_FOREGROUND_SERVICE). But in Android P, "com.google.android.katniss" package is in foreground service even though user didnot use GA. Could you let me know how can STB know Google Assistance is using now or not ? And what is the difference between Android O and P about foreground service. If you have any question, please let me know. | ||||

Hi Mr. Yoon: After testing, as you said, the Katniss process will always in foreground service state (RunningAppProcessInfo.IMPORTANCE_FOREGROUND_SERVICE = 125). The state of other processes on Android P will normally change. The issue should be caused by the service behavior of the new version of Katniss. We suggest to discuss another reliable way with Google to detect if user is using Katniss. |
